The Challenge
The Trans Mountain Expansion Project faced two primary challenges during horizontal directional drilling operations in Edmonton, Alberta:
- Close proximity to residential neighborhoods required extra layers of sound mitigation
- Frequently moving equipment required movable noise barriers
These challenges were particularly critical given that the project was subject to 156 conditions enforced by the Canada Energy Regulator.
The Solution
