The Challenge
ATCO Connector was working on a horizontal directional drilling (HDD) pipeline project in Calgary, Alberta. The only problem? The project site was close to residential areas, creating noise disturbance issues for nearby residents. Plus, the construction process required equipment to move frequently, making traditional fixed noise barriers impractical.
The Solution
Environmental Noise Control (ENC) worked with ACI Acoustical Consultants to design and implement a customized noise control system using our 24 ft. freestanding SK8 sound barrier panels. The barriers are used for low-frequency and heavy-duty applications. They were strategically positioned to minimize noise in residential areas.
